Meet Hazel – a classic bay hobby horse inspired by the Cleveland Bay, England's oldest horse breed and a favourite of the Royal Family. With her rich bay coat, a neat diamond-shaped white star, black-lined ears, and a long flowing black mane, Hazel is ready to be dressed in your own tack and join every royal adventure.

Why You'll Love Hazel
- Classic bay coat – warm brown plush with a softly shaded dark muzzle
- Diamond-shaped white star – the only white marking allowed on a real Cleveland Bay
- Black-lined ears – a realistic "black points" detail, just like a true bay horse
- Long black mane – full and flowing, perfect for brushing, plaiting, and styling
- Friendly felt eyes – soft and expressive, with no hard plastic parts
- Ready for your own tack – dress Hazel in any hobby horse bridle, headcollar, or fly veil you love
- Soft plush body – lightweight and comfortable to hold during play and practice
- Sturdy natural wooden stick – with a matching brown plush cover at the neck

Please Note
Hazel comes without a bridle, halter, or reins, so you can choose and style your own accessories.

Perfect For
Grooming and styling fun, royal procession role play, hobby horsing practice, horse-loving kids and teens, and a memorable birthday or Christmas gift.

Handmade with Love
Every Hazel is carefully handmade and hand-shaded, which means each horse is truly one of a kind. Small variations in star shape, coat shade, and mane length are part of her handmade charm – so your horse may look slightly different from the photos, making her uniquely yours.

Hazel FAQs

What is a Cleveland Bay?
The Cleveland Bay is the oldest established horse breed in England, named after the Cleveland district of Yorkshire and its colour. Cleveland Bays are always bay, and the only white marking allowed is a small star on the forehead – just like Hazel's.

How did the Queen save the Cleveland Bay?
After the Second World War, the breed nearly disappeared – by 1962 there were only four purebred Cleveland Bay stallions left in the UK. Queen Elizabeth II bought one and started a breeding programme that helped save the breed. Today, Cleveland Bays still pull royal carriages at the Royal Mews.

What is the difference between Hazel and Biscuit?
Both are bay horses with white stars and black manes! Hazel comes without tack, has black-lined ears, and a diamond-shaped star, while Biscuit comes ready to ride with a black bridle and reins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Product & Materials +
What's included in the box? +
Each hobby horse comes exactly as shown in its product photos. If the halter, bridle, or reins are visible in the images, they are included with that specific horse. If a design's photos show the horse without a halter, that accessory is not included — please check the product gallery carefully before ordering.
Are your hobby horses handmade? +
Yes. Each horse is hand-stitched, with the wooden stick hand-shaped and hand-painted by our skilled artisans. Small natural variations in stitching, mane, or markings are part of what makes every horse one of a kind.
What size is the hobby horse? +
Our hobby horse head measures 35 cm in length and 30 cm in height, with a 40 cm wooden stick, and weighs approximately 800g — perfectly sized for both younger children and teens who enjoy hobby horsing.
What materials are used, and are they safe? +
We use soft, child-safe plush fabric, a smooth wooden stick, and high-quality synthetic mane fibres. All materials are safety tested and meet international toy safety standards.
Do you offer different horse breeds or colours? +
Yes, our collection includes designs inspired by real horse breeds — including Percheron, Haflinger, Shetland Pony, Welsh Pony, Connemara, and more — with new designs added regularly.
Custom Orders & Hobby Horsing +
What is hobby horsing? +
Hobby horsing is a growing sport that began in Finland, where riders perform jumping, dressage, and obstacle courses using a stick horse. It's now popular across Scandinavia, the UK, and is growing quickly worldwide.
What age is a hobby horse suitable for? +
Our hobby horses are designed for children aged 3 and up, and are also widely enjoyed by older kids and teens involved in hobby horsing as a sport.
Can I order a custom hobby horse? +
Yes! Upload a photo of a horse you love, and our artisans will recreate its colours, markings, and personality into a one-of-a-kind hobby horse. Custom orders are handcrafted in 1–2 weeks.
Can I buy a hobby horse as a gift? +
Absolutely. Many customers order hobby horses as birthday or holiday gifts. We recommend ordering at least 2–3 weeks in advance for international delivery.
Shipping & Delivery +
Do you ship internationally? +
Yes, we ship to the UK, United States, Canada, Australia, and across the European Union, including Germany, France, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Ireland, and the Netherlands.
How long does delivery take? +
Delivery typically takes 8–10 business days to Europe and 10–12 business days to the UK, USA, and Australia.
How will I know when my order has shipped? +
Once your order ships, you'll receive a confirmation email with a tracking number so you can follow your package until it arrives.
Returns, Care & Support +
Can I return my hobby horse if I'm not happy with it? +
Yes, we offer a 30-day return policy for unused items in original condition. Custom-made horses are non-returnable unless damaged or defective. Full details are in our Return & Refund Policy.
How do I clean my hobby horse? +
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid machine washing, as this can damage the mane and stitching.
How can I contact customer support? +
You can reach us anytime through our Contact page or live chat, and we typically respond within a few hours.
